Upcoming Events in March

March 12th (Monday): Classes will begin at 9.25am. This is to facilitate a whole staff meeting. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.
Spring Reports: It is hoped to have final reports ready for postage during the week beginning March 12th 2012.
St Patrick’s Day: This year St Patrick’s Day will fall on a Saturday. Therefore, Monday 19th March will stand as a Bank holiday: There will be no classes on this day.
Career Guidance: There will be a Parent’s Evening for 4th and 5th year parents regarding Career Guidance information in March. Ms Morgan, Guidance Counsellor, will communicate times/ dates closer to the event.
End of Term II & Easter Break: Classes will finish on Friday, March 30th 2012. This will be a full school day. Term III will begin on Monday, 16th April 2012. Classes will begin, as usual, at 8.45am. Throughout the Easter break, it is hoped to schedule Easter Study sessions for Senior Cycle students. This is wholly dependent upon student uptake and confirmed numbers.

Parent Teacher Meetings

March 15 (Thursday) Parent/Teacher meeting for 2nd & 5th years. Classes will finish at 3.20pm on this day. Parent/ Teacher meeting will begin at 4.15pm and finish at 6.45pm.
March 21 (Wednesday) Parent/Teacher meetings for 7th years. Classes will finish at 2.50pm on this day. Parent/ Teacher meeting will begin at 4.15pm and finish at 6.45pm on this day.
March 28 (Wednesday) Parent/Teacher meeting for 6th years. Classes will finish at 2.50pm on this day. Parent/ Teacher meeting will begin at 4.15pm and finish at 6.45pm on this day.

Homework and Evening Study will not take place on these occasions.

It is expected that at least one parent/ guardian attends the meetings above for students in each year group. However, should it not be possible for you to attend, please contact the relevant Year Head to arrange another meeting time to discuss your son/ daughter’s report and general progress to date. Year Heads are happy to work with your availability in this way.

Join our Table Quiz Fundraiser

Visitor March 2012

Dr. Michael Pendred (Principal of Marianist-sponsored North Catholic High School in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania) visited the College and stayed with the Marianist Community.  Along with his wife, Lauri; daughter, Quinn; and son, Brock they then took a week to enjoy the people and scenery of Ireland.  It was a wonderful learning experience for all.
